Algebra 1
This is a first year algebra course in which you will learn to reason symbolically in preparation for Geometry. The key content involves writing, solving, and graphing linear and quadratic equations, including systems of two linear equations in two unknowns. Quadratic equations are solved by factoring, completing the square, graphically, or by application of the quadratic formula. The course also includes study of monomial and polynomial expressions, inequalities, exponents, functions, rational expressions, ratio, and proportion. Algebraic skills are applied in a wide variety of problem-solving situations. Introduction to Trigonometry, Probability and Statistics will be applied in real life situation.
Prerequisites: Should either passed a pre- algebra course or have sufficient preparation for high school level Algebra 1 course

The main purpose of this class is to make sure that each students will learn the Montana State Standards. This class will provide whatever time or extra help needed to learn all the following standards:
- Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them.
- Reason abstractly and quantitatively.
- Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others.
- Model with mathematics.
- Use appropriate tools strategically.
- Attend precision.
- Look for and make use of structure.
- Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning.
